Back in Minette's hotel room, she turns to Nick and says, "Well, I guess I should just get my stuff together and check out of here and move into your place, huh?" Distractly, Nick says "Sure." Noticing his distraction, Minette comes over, plants a big one on him, which he doesn't exactly return. She says, "It's her, isn't it?" He has to admit, yeah it is. Minette says that hey, she just had to try. She also goes on to say that what they had had together in NY had meant a lot to her, but even then she didn't think it meant as much to Nick as it did to her. And with that, it's ta-ta Minette. ;D

At LSP the next morning, Mrs. Braczyk is waiting for Nick. She's come to thank him for all his help. It turns out the baby wasn't her son's, he's come back home, the strike is over, and out of appreciation for his help, she's baked some (something, I didn't catch it) for him. He grins, dropping his eyes in that endearing way he has, says she didn't have to do that. When she explains, that's what you do for a friend, he flashes her that million kilowatt smile.

Having a good morning, he sees the flowers in a vase on Barbara's desk. He sets down his attache case, grabs the flowers from the vase, and heads to Lulu's office.
Keeping his eyes averted most of the time, he explains that while the flowers are pretty much dead now, they weren't when he bought them. After their talk (in ILP), he had lain awake all night thinking about her, and had gone out and bought these flowers for her. He tolder he how he had brought them to the office intending to ask her if they could spend some time together (i.e. date), and basically, though he doesn't come right out and say it, still wants to know.
Lulu, who has remained seated at her desk the whole time, says "Brian asked me last night."
Nick, a little confused by a response he hadn't expected, says, "Asked you what?"
"He asked me to marry him," is her reply.
At that moment, Alvin pops his head in the door. He's just heard the great news, and wants to congratulate Lulu on her engagement.
Nick doesn't say a word. He just turns and walks away. As he passes a rubbish bin, he symbolically drops the flowers in and continues walking.
Role the credits.

Yes, she has clothes of her own, silly thing! It's just that men's shirts are comfy, and besides, they've just had an intimate encounter, and rather than sit there at the side of the bed in nothing, she grabs his shirt and puts it on. About the flowers? No. She's talking to Alvin at this point. What do I think of Minette? She's not bad, but she's not a good match at all for our guy. She's too flighty, too dramatic--which is appropriate as she's an actress!

Gin, do you see any of the intimate encounter, I would presume not

No, we don't. The screen cap I included shows the first thing we know of the encounter--Nick laying in bed with the sheet around his waist.
