At the new nursing home, Nick and Lulu see Rose settled into her new room. Rose tells them about how she has told William about Darren, and how he says he knew it all along.
Lulu is extremely surprised, telling Nick afterwards that she always thought that Rose was in love with her grandfather. She then thanks Nick for all his help, especially after what she said earlier in the week (about the kiss). She says he has been really kind, in a tone that let’s you know that that is not at all what she would have expected of anyone with whom she had had the earlier conversation.

Final scene, Burton’s office. Nick comes in to confront his father.
He starts by telling Burton that he has done as Burton requested and referred Van Gergen to another firm. Then he lets Burton have it. Why did he bring in Caldwell? The guy is obviously useless (Mitchell told Nick earlier that law wasn’t Caldwell’s strong point).
Trying to calm Nick down, Burton tries to explain, “Nick, I made this deal with Caldwell . . .”<br>Nick goes ballistic, yelling at Burton. “Just last week you offered me the firm, what are you trying to do, by bringing in Caldwell? Jeopardize it all for me?” And more comments along this vein.
Finally, Nick storms out, slamming the door behind him. Burton is left sitting at his desk, clearly worried.

A Chinese Wall refers to when a "wall" is set up around an attorney regarding a case or client. For example, Nick is going to put out a memo firm-wide that no piece of paper, no spoken word, nothing regarding the Van Gergen deal should pass before Caldwell. In this way Caldwell cannot be accused of conflict of interest.

Gin I'm worried too... Nick didn't just storm out the office in anger, he was really really hurt that his father betrayed him (or something)... or am I just to senstive to poor Nick's feelings... their right when they say Nick's world's falling apart...
And the preview for the following week has me more than worried... I'm scared for poor Nick! *panicking silently*

I know--it's all very distressing. I don't know what to make of all of the preview, and I didn't get that part taped, as my tape ran out! Nick did seem to feel betrayed, but I think Burton is going to tell him next week that the deal involving Caldwell was to keep Nick out of prison.

Really? *curiously* But also Nick doesn't know that, so if he's going overboard about it and Burton didn't seem to try to stop him from thinking that, because Nick did look back for say two seconds (abeit the with a hurt/angry look) to see what his father was going to do...
Poor Nick... preview... distressing! (definitely) Do you know if Nick was on the phone when he got pushed over? because it looked like it... from what I saw anyway.

When he got pushed over? I don't remember that bit? Oh no! Why did that tape have to run out right at the start of Nick's confrontation of Burton!!!!

Yep, Nick got 'shoved' and he fell, I think he was on the phone... all I know is that when he got shoved his back was turned so he didn't see who it was, and it looked like he was on the phone... in fact he definately looked like he was on the phone (I haven't a clue)
You're tape was  *sympathetically*

Wouldn't you know it. Just as I make F&A Partner the firm falls apart.
So Laurie has noticed what is going on between Lulu and Nick? She is the only one who ever seems to notice things when it comes to Nick - and I include Lulu in that. Perhaps she feels motherly towards him. Ahhh
Did Lulu tell Laurie she was having trouble with her engagement?
And the entire female side of Lulu's family are a bunch of tarts? So much for moral fibre. Finally we have an explanation for the ILP kiss !

RE: Nick getting knocked down while on the phone.
It was someone wearing a black bra. In the preview scene, as Nick was opening his door a "woman" ran up quickly behind him and I think we can infer that "she" forced her way inside. The reason I'm using quotes, is that the person looked too big to be Mandy (whom we saw in his car as part of the preview). Now, that could be a bad stunt woman match, or it could be Lenny. I didn't notice that is was clear in Shelter (when Nick went to the police) that the parole officer and Lenny were both dead.
Even though Mandy shot Lenny, he may not have died. They may have taken off together. Why else would Mandy hide? She saved Nick by shooting Lenny. Lenny is the one who killed the parole officer. I also think the blood on NF's clothes will turn out to be Lenny's, since Lenny was stopped by NF before he could bash Mr. Parole Officer's head a third time.
Also, that was a great summary of tonight's show. Tomorrow when I am not so sleepy, I plan to learn the code for the "applauding smileys" and thank you properly.
