Before I talk about it, can I add- Simon is on Rove Live this Tuesday for Australians, he is getting interviewed.
I hope this is the right forum to post this in LOL.
Yeah, let me talk about it briefly. There were little snippets of Simon throughout the night. One being with his wife at his table laughing, one being this teensy tiny second of him on the red carpet and the other was his 1993 Logie Speech in clips they showed.
What was amazing was when Simon came out to present. They came back after the ad break and they ran with a clip, where he is defending Lulu in court, in the ep where she tells the guy with the gun that she is a lawyer to help him out, after he shoots the kid.
Anyways then Simon appeared, and he had this HUGE grin, he didn't stop grinning the whole time, one where his dimples come up and the crevices near his face. He looked so adorable, and he had man scruff. He looked very good in his suit too.
So They talked a little about life and how well he has done for himself, and he said he "keeps his nose down and his bum up" and that he loves his family and wife etc. He had a little cheer squad in the front from his friends and he acknowledged them. He was very very happy. He ended up presenting two awards, and the second one a good friend of his won, Claudia Karvan. She got on stage and they had this huge embrace and he lifted her off the ground and then they kissed and in all the excitment it was sort of this open mouthed kiss on the lips, it was sort of a, strange (not awkward but not planned), halle berry and adrien brody moment, but not to that extreme, which when he let her go he was laughing REALLY hard. And he also went and showed the crowd the envelope with her name on it. She said "I told Simon to read my name even if it wasn't on there".
Anyway, what I wanted to talk about, was how much I appreciated his acting skills after seeing him, just himself. There are alot of actors who carry traits around on and off the screen, I didn't see him do that, he was exactly two different people. He walked out, relaxed, calm, standing straight, huge grin and lots of excitment. While Nick, is hunched down, rushed, looking out the corner of his eye. It was so strange, I don't know why, but you somehow always base a character on the real person in some sort of way. Also, when he talked, sometimes Australian actors, you can hear their australian tone, but with an american twist, when they have to use an american accent. Simon sounded totally different, it was interesting to see if he had picked up an american twang, but he had a clear deep Australian accent and his tone of voice is totally different to his American accent as Nick. So yes...he looked good with the scruff, all golden and whispy. He should keep it there LOL.
I hope that made some sense, I just wanted to share a little with you all.
