Hey, maybe that's why they end up with the whole sex in public places thing.
Maybe LuLu challenges him to see her as recovered and ready, as opposed to the fragile China doll he seems to regard her as now. Maybe once the gauntlet is thrown down.....Nick is overly eager to comply?
But then, why her concern about intimacy issues?
As usual, LuLu baffles me. But I was really happy to see her so strong and together in this episode. It's the first time I've really liked her.

I liked seeing that too. Much like MAIT gave us a stronger Alvin, BITR does the same for LuLu. I think she didn't say anything to Nick, for many of the same reasons it's also hard for Nick to say what he really feels. LuLu has issues too....with a Mom like Caroline, and the upbringing she's had, you can see where they're derived from. I think LuLu knows Nick cares about her, but it's a given that she might have some insecurities (she mentioned her Mom beating up on her self-esteem, despite blasting Brian for the hooker and her "damn right it's not me!" comment, when Nick told her Brian's cheating wasn't her fault, she replied to him, "maybe not once....." proving she may think she's lacking in that regard, we also know she hadn't initiated anything with a guy before Nick as she told him in the car prior to the accident, and then there's the "been with Brian forever," thing....so she's not exactly Caroline Jr.). All in all that might lead to a woman who's not the most confident in her own wiles, especially after the accident -- with each rebuff from Nick, I saw in her face concern that Nick might see her in a different light now...the weak little invalid, instead of a lover. I think LuLu needed to see some definitive signs from Nick that he was romantically interested before she would have said anything outright. Something that let's her know that he doesn't just want to wrap her up in gauze and take care of her. When that wasn't forthcoming, she knew she had to make him see she was on the mend, and independent. Her way of forcing his hand, telling him that he needs to step up to the plate..she's ready..and..... ...batter up! Heh-heh.

But then, why her concern about intimacy issues? That`s what`s bothering me too... She is acting like she wants to have fun... so when Nick has fun too, she is worried about the intimacy issues? I mean it`s not that i don`t think she wants something serious but she is not acting according to that... Besides of this thing we know Nick have problems with open himself up.. so next episode.. is going to be Two weeks... I can`t wait someone

I agree with you totalfan. I liked LuLu a lot better in this episode, they have added a lot of dimensions to her character.
I am not nearly as enamoured with the Nick/LuLu thing as many but I really appreciate reading posts from Rosiiii and other LuLu fans to get a different perspective. I thought she was acting more assertively maybe in response to a life and death experience. She is going out to LIVE life not just leave it up to fate.
I also agree that LuLu's problems are as much in the way as Nick's, in fact, he has been extremely obvious in his feelings as opposed to LuLu.
I deliberately did not read spoilers this episode to try and get a more "fresh" perspective on the show as sometimes what we speculate overshadows what really happens. The official blurbs tend to get our whet apetite for things that never really happen, but so many more great things do happen. I was disappointed but probably because I feel too much attention has gone to the romance this season. I want more balance.
Jake is so very funny. I love his character.
I do not like boxing but the character was very compelling and the story line moving. Nick was great in all interactions this week, as usual. He needs to give LuLu a little of the medicine he dished out to Kim, then she won't take him for granted. ;D
Looking forward to the next ep, I think I will skip the spoilers for that one too. I should say the speculation about the spoilers on the various boards, as I do read the official blurbs.

What an episode... The only thing I wasn't happy with was the lack of a kiss, that would've been perfect in a number of scenes OK. After a second viewing, I calmed down. I was so much waiting for something else that my anger at not finding it overcame the pleasure I got from certain scenes. My favorite was the WE thing : There is something We should do if you're up to it. A very couple's project!!! I agree that everything is in the eye of the beholder, so this is what I saw : when LuLu thanked Nick for the green plant, I was baffled by the way she didn't see what this gift implied : Nick talking to the florist and asking for what would be best for her... By now, we know that flowers are not really her thing. Then when Nick offered his WE trip, her lack of enthousiasm depressed me. If she really was waiting for more, why didn't she take the occasion at the end, when getting her car, to offer a ride to the famous unused B&B? Instead, she let him down. It would have been the perfect time to change their relationship. But I guess DH doesn't want to give what we are waiting for at the moment we want it. It is part pleasure and part torture. P.S. Can anybody explain me the sailor joke

(where is the thud smiley?)... and yes, he is not a flower guy....or you mean she is not?....I still remember the lousy daisies he bought after minette.....eew, poor choise, nickie!

By (from?) my own experience, guys DO prefere to go in the "I´m taking care of you, baby" mood than in the "I love your hair and I´m dying to ask you out but afraid of getting a no..."....so, let´s remember the mars and venus thing.... And for the flirtation (again BMOE)...when you are in love or infatuated, and pretty sure the guy feels the same....haven´t you ever felt like flirting a little with everybody around, because you feel desired and because your hormones are running wild?...it doesn´t mean you are trying to hit anybody else; it just means you feel happy and loose.....

She doesn't seem to know what to do with them : the poor daisies , or the magnificent ones he brought at the hospital 8-)and the green plant that finally found a place in her bedroom . Now, THAT is a thing that will keep Nick dreaming ... A link with her bedroom!

It`s was very nice of Nick to give her flowers... and obviously LuLu like more Nick`s help to buy the convertible than the many plants than Nick can ever buy to her... And cecilia, you are absolutly right he`s taste for flowers makes me feel sick

I read an interesting theory as regards Nick and LuLu on another board.....
It is that LuLu is ready for some bad boy Nick after all that time with The Goose (who seemed, at first, like a nice, normal guy) and especially after experiencing near death.
Problem is that Nick is in Nice Nick mode. By the next new episode, he realizes the error of his ways and kicks it up a few notchs, to Naughty Nick. Hence, sex in public places, which is very naughty indeed.
However, if Naughty Nick is what LuLu thinks she wants, then why the concern about intimacy issues?

I haven´t seen the magnificent ones or the plant....but the daisies .....c´mon!.....she might not know what to do (they were kinda dead when they arrived to her office, let´s face it)...., but the Sun God doesn´t have a taste for the flowers, I insist!.... And maybe, why not, she is not a flower´s girl!....and so far he isn´t either, there is another thing they have in common!.... ;D

I think so far Nick has been going out of his way to show his affection, and true feelings for LuLu, but it hasn't gotten into LuLu's brain yet, I think! What does she want the man to do,......take her to bed? I didn't see it - like rosiiii1 mentioned! They barely finished a kiss in a whole year! ;D It's time for her to show him she really wants to go forward with this romance, and turn it in a bloody hot relationship! She started before the accident with the B&B plan, so what's holding her now,.......she should know that he's ready. He has given her many signs. Hey ya *jevees* and *cecilia*, good points too! If LuLu is happy to be alive and wants to have some fun, and sort out all of her own personal problems, so be it! If she needs to be free and happy, and flirt for a while, then she should be the dapper and strong girl she seems to portrait right now.... and tell Nick she needs time! While she 's having that time to sort it all out, it would be only fair for him to wake up - and find maybe someone new who would really want to follow him up that road to love and happiness.
