"Iconic" has posted a wonderful new article/interview of Australia's "TV Week" 10-16 May 2003, with Simon Baker in honour of his being a guest presenter at the "TV Week Logies" in Melbourne.
"Baker's delight"...
Among the many news tid-bits and great Q & A, here's the most important update........IMO!!
Q: You've just finished the second season of "The Guardian" in the US. What can you tell us about it?
Simon:It was a real exploration and moved in different directions. About three-quarters of the way through the season, we found what worked for us and what direction we want to head in the third season. We made it come back to more of a show about relationships. For the first half of the season it was very plot-driven, and then we went back to more personal dilemmas and crises between characters.
Q: You also directed your first episode this season. How was that?
Simon: It really rekindled my interest in the show. It was good fun and I felt alive again. It brought David Hollander, the creator and writer, and I back together, because we worked closely on that episode the way we did on the pilot. Next year I'm going to direct a couple more. I'm looking forward to it - wich is bizarre, because this time last year I was thinking, "How am I going to cope with another year of this?" I'm exited about coming home and having a break, but I'm also looking forward to next season.
Now, if that isn't true....or what? It's like sparkles in my eyes, and music in my ears!!
Read the whole interview at "iconic", it's just great!!
