I don't know if you have read posts on this same episode on other mbs as I have but it seems to me that many women posters there seem inclined to excuse Nick's behavior and lay the blame on Lulu's failure to accept his marriage proposal.
I've just finished reading posts on other boards to see what you were talking about. I'll be honest with you : I understand... Maybe some of you remember a drama called Thirtysomething. In one of the ep, I remember a divorced mother explaining to her daughter (played at the time by Polly Draper) why she married the father, a ruthless guy. And she said : he was a good dancer. I remember that part because it was a very sad episode in an otherwise not so tragic serie.
Nick Fallin has everything a girl dreams of : he is gorgeous, really gorgeous (I can't emphasize that enough, thanks to Simon Baker), he moves beautifully, he is bright. But in real life, if I were to live close to a guy like Nick Fallin , I think, like most women, I would hate him: he is cold, apparently heartless, he is an unrepentant addict and now he cheats on the woman he lives with. You have to know him very well to guess that he is, deep down, a good person, (which is the case from our viewer's pov). If you don't get there, then you hate him and avoid him.
Here, at home, I love the guy, I don't live with him. I can understand he is hurt by Lulu's rejection, but still believe the cheating is unacceptable and hope he'll make amends and that Lulu will be above average to forgive him. But will she?
