Hallo! made any progress on the assignments today? ;D I've actually made some headway into that most dreaded of all my assignments, which just happens to be due Thursday! Anyway, anything interesting going on today? Hopefully Hales will check back in to see that we really did miss her!

No Today turned out to be a crappy day for me too ... and it looks like tomorrow will be one too :crying: I just can't get any work done like this ... I know that sounds like a pathetic excuse though So what sort of dreaded assignment is this ? :eye:

Why has today been crappy? Maybe you need to play with Shane some more--that might help . My dreaded assignment (you'll probably wish you hadn't asked ) is for a teaching writing methods class. I have to take items which show functional literacy (otherwise known as things you use everyday that involve reading, like directions on how to use something, the label on a tin, the driver's education manual, etc.) and create a lesson plan teaching students how to analyze and use the instructions provided. And I have to set it up in such a way that really smart students won't get bored, but also students with learning disabilities are able to do the assignment. So far my lesson plan is about reading the directions and product literature for different items. I have a prescription information sheet from the chemist, the instructions from a packet of dog flea and tick repellent , the instruction book to my camcorder, and a bottle of this stuff you spray on your clothes to remove static electricity. Sound fun? What are you supposed to be working on?

Wow ... I didn't know teaching could get that complex. I just thought teachers did their thing .. and teach  I have 3 maths tutorials and half a term of economics to catch up on .. plus a huge psychology essay about gender differences in different perspectives and linked to the nature-nurture debate or something I also think I forgot to pick up half the notes .. cos there are two references listed and I only have one ... and university is closed for the break .. and I couldn't phone them today cos of the public holiday today ... so, yeah, I am potentially in trouble You're laughing at my impossible workload, aren't you ? :eye: I played with Shane quite a bit today ... actually I think he got tired of me and now he's fast asleep

No, I'm not laughing at your work load! On the contrary, I completely sympathize. I can tell you now, the maths and economics would be beyond me, and I had a minor in business the first time around ! The psychology bit could be interesting . . . I actually studied a bit about that last term for a lecture called Studies of the Learners. Dreadful class. The instructor I'm always complaining about taught it, and he majored in psychology in college :puke:. I actually told him Saturday that he was psycho --he thought I was joking! You know, I think all this stuff they're making us take in this teaching program is the reason why the US is facing a shortage of teachers :dumb:--why go through all this rubbish when you can do something else and get paid a lot more money? 8) Poor Shane, you wore him out!!!

All right, now it's my turn to gripe about being totally bored! :gunfire: I have 2 hours before I have to leave for my lecture, and I don't want to do anything constructive. :eye: If I didn't have to drive, I'd have a . Nan's even hiding out somewhere, probably under the deck, taking a nap so she can bark all night. So what to do? Guess I'll check back later!

Hmm, I would have had a great day but the weather was really bad...
My brother's friend has a puppy named Tyson that I got to play with so I guess that was fun... talking to friends on the Internet is more fun though

So what did you do today? Tuesday isn't a public holiday for you, is it?

Nah, no public holiday until Australia has ANZAC day which I think is late April (and I might not be here then). I haven't done much today so far, although I'm going out shortly (like in an hour) to go to the local shops!

Gin ... you should invest in an X-Box, hehe  That'll keep some of the boredom away :guns:
Hales ... did Tyson and his owner come over to your house .. or did you go over to his ? ... yeah, I like to ask pointless questions when I'm bored
What's ANZAC day ?
Also...who is Wayne and Fig Newton..and what's a Newtmeg ? I'm clueless

So, Gillybear, how are the studies? Any progress? Has Shane recovered from his exhaustion? Lucky Hales--gone shopping!

Nope .. no progress I'm going to watch Ice Age in the morning  ... but I'm going to use The Guardian as motivation to get a little work done in the afternoon ... hehe. That's a little optimistic for me, though :guns: Yes, Shane has recovered from his exhaustion .. but now he's gone back to bed again ... :boring: P.S ... it wasn't real exhaustion .. he was just trying to play hard-to-get ... he's very good at that

 Wayne Newton is an American singer from the 60s & 70s now known for his Las Vegas act, and fig newtons are a type of biscuit. There is no such thing as a newtmeg, but it's a pun on nutmeg. May I say in my own defense--I didn't come up with the names! 8) That was entirely my roommates idea! An x-box--nah! I'm more of a computer game person than a video game person. Actually, I'm an avid reader, but since I've had so much to do, I haven't let myself get any new books in a while. But it will all be worth it in the end!
