LSP Suzanne announces to Nick that Luke can’t live with his father after all, as the father was arrested nine months before for beating his girlfriend.
Lulu next comes by to talk to Nick about the trust for the baby. She says she’s been thinking about maybe $100,000. She looks worried that Nick may think this too much. Nick says he was thinking more like $200,000. He explains that special-needs trusts like this can only be paid-into once, and he thinks they should make it count. Lulu voices concern about coming up with that much money, but Nick says he’ll take care of it.
Luke’s dad next shows up, angry because Luke can’t come live with him now.

F&F Burton is looking for Jake again. First he asks Gretchen, who hasn’t seen him. Then Nick arrives. Burton explains that they’re waiting on Jake to finalize the Kirkendall deal.
Burton goes back into the conference room. Nick comes in a moment later, says Jake just called and is detained on personal business. He explains what he has found in his research, claiming that Jake made him aware of the situation. He says that there are grounds for Kirkendall to fire the manager, no problem. As he goes to leave, he tells Kirkendall that while he’s not a part of Kirkendall’s team (there at F&F), he’ll be happy to help in any way he can in the future. Kirkendall is clearly impressed with Nick.
