This aired in Australia this past week, an interesting episode I thought, actually got to see Nicks office at last, wonder why it took so long.
I thought Nick was a little subdued in this episode, was it because he was handling so many emotions, i.e. his father's emotions over Judge Stanton dying and quetioning his own priorities in life. He also seemed to be very tuned in to the Mother's (whose daughter returned, who of course turned out not to be her daughter at all) emotions and how awful to be in court to declare your only child dead, when you don't even really know.
And of course Bart, also being sooo sad, what a lovely animal.
Any thoughts anyone?

"actually got to see Nicks office at last, wonder why it took so long." -- There was a lot of talk on the various boards that since the starting budget was so low, they couldn't afford to build out too many sets. With his house being shown in the last episode, it looks like they got some extra money It has been a while since I saw this episode, but I can't forget the dog, Bart. It seems like everyone wanted NF to keep the pup I think NF was subdued in defference to his father's loss of a good friend, and was very sympathetic to the Mother of the lost girl, as you suffested I planned to watch the episode again, but my tape got "crushed". Someone is sending another to me. Mostly remember that NF was very suspicious of the daughter's sudden reappearance, so he went into shark mode to expose her as "gently" as possible, for the Mother's sake.

Nothing gets past you two, huh? Here I was being helpful ..... The nephew stepped on it with his size 13's. I think Heart was on that tape too.

I rather liked this episode. What struck me about the disappeared daughter case was how Nick and the girl obviously had each other sized up the minute they clapped eyes on each other. She knew she wasn't going to get a free ride with this bloke about.
Bart was lovely. He should get an Emmy for the hang dog look he had on his face when he left the hospital ward.
It was also the first episode where I got the impression that there was genuine affection between Burton and Nick.

Okay now I really do wish I could have seen that episode!
I'm all for seeing affection between Burton and Nick.
Annie - Droopy asked a question... it was only a suggestion... nasty nephew  *innocently*

Sniffeling Hales: Why didn't you get to see it? After you get home, maybe they'll rerun it.

I'm sure we are going to get re-runs for months after the final episodes, but Hales even if not, I'm sure someone in Australia can copy a tape for you. I will myself when I find out how to get my copy copied. Not sure who would do that
Yes, there were some nice scenes between Burton and Nick in this episode and you could hear the affection in Nicks voice and (almost) see it in his face - and didn't you just love the expresson on Nicks face when Judge Stanton asked him if he liked dogs!!
