Hmm... maybe my contacts need to be changed or my eyes need to be checked, but did anyone else find Lulu looking err... pregnant in the previewed scene with Nick? My ears are fine, and I heard her say that the wedding was cancelled --- but unless that was a very unflattering angle by the camera, I think her big announcement might be evident... although the wedding is called off, she's carrying the Cad's baby.
Ahh... this could lead to wonderful scenes with the Cad being a no-show and Nick coming to Lulu's rescue. ;D

Well, even if she was pregnant, wouldn't she think twice about marrying Brian if she has found out about the prostitute episode - perhaps that is what happened, but surely she wouldn't be showing yet?

Speaking from experience, you can start showing around 3 months, although 4 months is more typical. If you have really taut stomach muscles you may not show until 6 months.

Yes, but, would she really have gone in for all that kissing with Nick if she had already known about the baby, esp with not knowing about the prostitute, I can't see anyone doing that?

I actually believe that that is going to be the big announcement, that she is pregnant (course you realise that if she breaks off the wedding, she is going to lose this baby, doubt whether they will go the single mum routine, even if this is David Hollander and not your run of the mill). So you think she could have known she was with child when she kissed Nick?

But then are we sure that Lulu is pregnant? It might be that the actress is, but the character isn't. It's happened before!

We are sure of nothing, but its fun to speculate.
Although I fail to see how a pregnancy could 'shatter' Nicks hopes. OK so it isn't the most romantic start to a relationship and he's have to get used to be a step-dad. Then again he might be one of those guys totally freaked out by pregnancy.

Hmm...I've had the entire evening to ponder the possibilities. While it's possible that (just) actress is pregnant, it would make for an interesting storyline for Lulu to be having the Cad's baby. She tells Nick that the wedding is cancelled, but just the look on her face says there's more to it than that. Perhaps she goes on to mention that while the wedding has been called off, she and Brian are still together (for now) for the baby. Tensions are high with Lulu and Nick, it's a mutual wanting to be together but she feels a commitment to the Cad and her child. Nick accepts the defeat and devastation, assuming a wedding will soon take place. Fast forward a few months, Lulu is sick of Brian's meddling in her life and decides he's too much of a control freak. He is tired of her work schedule and her continued faithfulness to LSOP and, well, pursues other interests. She finds him in bed with someone else (and/or) finally heards about the prostitute and officially ends their relationship. Poor Nick also receives her wrath, as she feels betrayed and completely abandoned. Later on, when Brian starts to show himself to be the jerk we see him as --- Nick comes to Lulu's rescue on more than one occasion. The idea of having a kid around almost grows on him. The romance would logically be put on hold (not that the tension would be forgotten) and Nick would be liable to have a few flings inbetween. Important, not really. I think the delayed Nick and Lulu romance could be all the better. Just my thoughts. :-)

I guess I missed the part of her looking pregnant in the preview as I was concentrating on Nicky... And I even watched the ep twice... But just for the record, I'm not agreeing with the pregnany theory...I hope I'm right, otherwise, I'll

Hmm... those previews, they are certainly making me think. Lulu is generally rail-thin, and that shirt she wore in the preview scene really threw me off. I thought I was seeing things and asked my mother to confirm, it's quite probable. If the actress is pregnant and the character shouldn't be, well, maybe Lulu needs to hide behind the filing cabinets or her desk for a while ;D Okay, as for Lulu --- perhaps she's just one of those women who don't realize they are pregnant until well into their pregnancy. This would be my idea if it was a storyline pregnancy instead of a real-life written in. But, it would be a bit of a stretch to have her just start "showing" out of the blue. This could explain her beer drinking and her impromptu make-out session with Mr. Gorgeous Himself. I know that she should realize that the obvious (expanding waistline among other things) but this is Lulu. I don't know that they'd write in a pregnancy story for Lulu in less it was to accomodate the actress, that seems the most probably cause . Wendy Moniz didn't make any formal announcements in her People magazine interview, she offered a very nebulous comment as to her position on motherhood by saying "we're definitely having children." While I am not particularly thrilled with the idea of Lulu having a baby with the Cad, I don't think the story would be all too bad. They'd split eventually. Maybe Lulu finds out she's pregnant and about the prostitution story with Brian, and tells Nick she's not ready for a romance with anyone she can't trust nor is she staying with Brian. In context with all the written previews, I have to wonder --- maybe earlier in the episode she finds out she's having the Cad's baby and then tells Nick (devastating him) that she HAS to marry Brian because of the baby. But, near the end, Lulu realizes all she'd give up and the changes she'd have to make and tells Nick that the weding has been cancelled? I can hope, can't I?

greetings all!
i'm hoping hollander doesn't go there...it was just be too too daytime soap opera ish..... and tho the guardian is a soap in the sense that it has continuing stories from week to week, i just don't think hollander, who has proven to be uncoventional tv guy, will do the pg thing.
i also agree that i don't know how that would shatter nick's hopes forever.... i'm thinking that just as lulu ends the engagement and opens up to the possibility of something with nick, she finds about his role in brian's prostititution arrest - and she, feeling betrayed, slams the door shut.

Aloha I went back to view the ep again to see if Lulu was pg looking... I think the blouse was just blousy. It looked like she was wearing hip hugger type pants, so that could make the blouse look fuller since it's not tucked in at the waist. IMHO, I don't think Lulu will be angry about NF not telling her about Brian -- someone previously mentioned the client/lawyer priveledge that I think comes in here. Also, after I saw the previews again (and being totally awake it did look like Mandy who knocked Nick over by surprising him from behind.
