So what would you girls like to know about this episode? How much or how little? It is quite good--very suspenseful!!! And as someone on one of the Yahoo boards said--at the end you just want to take Nick in your arms    (He's just a bit shell-shocked)

Our Nick shell-shocked? More more more.... please!

Okay, where to start. (by the way, I'm going to post this in short segments so you don't have to wait so long ) In the opening, we see Burton being interviewed for the position on the federal bench. That all seems to go real well. Nick, meanwhile, shows up at F & A, only to be met by his probation officer, Dale, who is rather slimy.

Slimy Dale tells Nick that he has checked on Alvin's reports, and according to Alvin, Nick missed 2 AA meetings last week, not to mention the fact that he went out of state (Nick explains that he flew to New York on business, stayed 2 hours, flew back, to no avail).
Dale also mentions that he did a bit more research, and found the report of a bar fight at the Incline, and he figured that Nick must have been drinking.
By now, Nick has finished providing his urine sample, and Dale suggests they go back to Nick's office to talk.

Dale explains that he and his girlfriend (for whom he had served as probation officer) want to buy this business, and he wants Nick to look over the contracts for them. Nick says no way, Dale can turn him in if he wants to. I'm going to skip Nick's case at Legal Services and the side story with James! Anyway, Nick shows up at the courthouse where his father is dedicating a plaque that names this one courtroom in honor of Judge Stanton. Afterwards, he tells Nick how glad he was that Nick could show up, and how nervous he felt. Nick said he didn't look nervouse, and by the way, was he still interested in the federal bench? Burton replies that he is, and is basically pulled away by someone who wants to congratulate him.

Where was I? (I had to log back in ). He said no way because Dale was basically trying to bribe him--you fix things for me, I'll forget about your technical violations. Anyway, after talking to Burton, Nick rethinks things, and agrees to help Dale and Mandy the Floosie. Dale and Mandy the Floosie show up at F&A where they show Nick the contract, which has some problems. Nick points them out, but Mandy says no problem, she's taken care of everything else--the health inspections, building inspections, etc., all they need now is Nick's help getting the liquor license. She also tells Nick that the guy they're doing business with isn't the kind of guy who'd hire a high-priced attorney to help him do business, "You know what I mean?' Nick replies that no, he doesn't know what she means. She then opens her purse and shows him a handgun and tells him he'd be better off meeting this guy with a gun than with a pen in his hand.

Sorry--some weird computer stuff was going on . Anyway, Nick goes over to the "business" with them, to find out it is a strip club. Our Nick felt a wee bit out of place there!

So Nick talks to the thug who owns the place, and tells him that Dale and Mandy agree to his asking price, but they want to see the books first. The thug says no way, no books. Nick says no books, no deal.
After consulting with Dale and the floosie, Nick goes back to Ugly Thug and tells him that they agree to his deal--they sign the contract, he shows them the books. Note: as part of the contract, Dale has to pay Ugly Thug a downpayment of $4,000.
