I've heard this called an 'ironic twist' because of Nick & Burton's difficult relationship -- the Wallflower singing the Guardian theme is none other than the son of Bob Dylan. I believe his name may be Jake. According to legend, DH contacted him to write the theme and sent some first season tapes for inspiration.
