I just thought I break the silence and post a new thread. I've been thinking how it would be great to see Burton and Caroline briefly date in Season 3?  Rita Moreno did a good job as LuLu's Mom and I would like to see her back to give some good advice to her daughter. Burton needs a woman in his life and need to get rid of Shannon. Okay, that's mean, but I am one of those who don't see any future storyline between Shannon and Burton. Imagine how it would be like if we see Nick and LuLu, as well as Burton and Caroline double date. Are we going to see Nick and LuLu play footsie with Mom and Dad around? Okay, too soapy, but hey, you have to admit that this is a good discussion, right?  Okay, I know Caroline is still married, but isn't her husband about to dump her? Or did I misundertand that part? |

I love this thread. It's perfect!
I would love to see Burton with a new love interest. Preferably a female adult and Caroline is a great choice. If you remember when Caroline flew in from Philadelphia, she needed a lawyer and went straight to Burton's HOUSE! Not to his office but his house!! Later, at the office, Nick tells Burton that Lulu is Caroline's daughter. Burton didn't know that, actually, Burton didn't know Caroline had any children--left Pitt and married "Jack"--lost track of her. Reminising though, Burton remembered she was a fabulous dancer (which she is in real life). I got the impression he was quite smitten with her. A previous relationship, possibly? Could Lulu be the result of that fling and Burton kept out of the loop. Caroline knew Burton wouldn't dump his wife and newly born son, so she left town. Married Jack Archer to give her unborn child a name and a family. Maybe Jack finds out and dumps Caroline. Wow, I am rambling on.
Anyway, I think Caroline could take Burton on. She is a strong woman. I think the two will butt heads many times but they will also be explosively passionate, tender and caring. They will have much to discuss especially their children, lack of parenting skills, new relationship of their children. And of course, they will double date. Romantic dinners with dancing!! Yes, Cecilia and Jeeves, dancing, maybe after attending a symphony dressed in that lushish Tux!! Got your attention now!!

Married Jack Archer to give her unborn child a name and a family. Definitely a creative idea, but... Yikkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkes! Please no siblings after sex...that's just a little too daytime for such an incredibly innovative primetime show. Before Nick and LuLu consummated their relationship it would have been one thing, but after... ick. Please DH, don't go there... The impression that I got from the background information that was given to us in "Ambition" was that Burton knew Caroline in the early 80's, via her soon-to-be third husband, Jack Novak...which means that LuLu would've definitely been around (but perhaps shipped off to boarding school, being raised by her father or maybe even Nana, or maybe Caroline had custody but left her to the care of a nanny or something until she went off to school), and was probably the product of her first or second marriage. Later on, in "Back in the Ring" Caroline didn't want Burton to handle her case because her husband Jack was in his *social circle* and she didn't want all of their friends to find out about the affair (though I still have my doubts as to whether or not Caroline actually did ever get around to telling Jack). It seemed, from what little we saw, that LuLu had a decent relationship with her stepfather -- they didn't come off as overly close, but he did appear to care deeply for her and maybe did regard her as his own child. IMO, it will be rather interesting to find out about LuLu's paternity, perhaps an absentee father might have a lot to do with her past and why she is the way she is, having troubled relationships with the men in her life... On another note, I wonder if Burton and Caroline will see themselves living vicariously through their children -having the relationship that they could never have? |

Yes, Fourbeccaone!... you indeed got my attention with the mere mention of a tux:thud:
I dont care if it´s yucky....in fact, they only transgressed a western tabu ( and they could move to a paradisiac island in the pacific ocean and have a wonderful-passionate life there, raising a lot of cute blonde and curly babies); that would bring a lot more tension between them....and that´s what we love to see!.....unsatisfied desires, anger everywhere....I´m afraid there would be a lot of beating-ups, too.
Back to the double date...I think Burton was smitten with Caroline, but I doubt that anything between them went that far....the island is a beatiful image, but I´d rather see Nick and Lulu having problems in Pittsburgh...I think they could double date in order to help their children date again; Nick is gonna be pretty "ticked" after her non-answer, and Burton could try to help...he already played matchmaker with him...
Fancy dinner in a ....river boat?....long gowns, tuxes:thud:....yes, I´m there. In fact, I´m gonna be very disappointed if DH doesn´t shake Nick and Lulu a little....(but a smooooth shake....)...
I´m back later (have to work!...or pretend to...:biglaugh:)

Well the silence is finally broken, Jennifer.
I certainly woke everyone up with my ramblings.
Maybe now we can get serious and have some good dialogue about double dating: Caroline and Burton/Lulu and Nick.
First, after Anne was unfaithful to Burton during their marriage, I don't think Burton would date Caroline, a married woman. Yes, I think he would be tempted, she is desirable--a great personality, fun, exciting. But, he knows all too well the feelings of betrayal as a victim of spousal infidelity. Caroline on the other hand would consider it all a part of the game! A casual interlude. I do believe Caroline and Burton will have much to discuss concerning their children--how they can play a pivotal role in helping them overcome their insecurities as a couple.
Now let's hear from the rest of you. We need to keep our thoughts active during this long hot summer.

Hi, again!...... I think Caroline could be helpful to Nick and Lulu....I dont know about Burton....I think he tends to be blind to things he doesnt want to see. Yes, knowing Anne betrayed him he would never date a married woman....but it was fun to think about that tabu relatiinship ;D! Will Lulu listen to her mother? Probably Nick is gonna be more eager to take suggestions than her; we saw (BITR) how unwilling was Lulu to listen to her mother advices or ideas.... Can we have another thread (simultaneously)?....I wanna talk about Nick and some lost thoughts I have....  |

Jennifer as ususal great topic... Well I don`t know if I like to see them together, maybe if nick and LuLu weren`t dating, cause it would to much weird.... But in fact I think Burton needs someone like Caroline, a strong woman, active who knows what she wants and she is not afraid to look for it... Besides I agree B should get Shannon out of his head or I would have to do it for him.... I`m gonna kick his ass so much that he won`t remember the girl name..  Now, cecilia i colapsed when you said dinner, tuxes and LuLu/ Nick in the same sentence.... Love to see that.... I was thinking will Burton be jeloaus of LuLu when he sees Nick`s devotion for her... I`d like to see that, cause their relation father and son sucks and suddenly he sees Nick so gentle and loving with LuLu...  I don`t mean he doesn`t like N being happy just that he wishes his son can be happy when he is around too....  Of course this will happen if B can see a little more that a small blonde called Shannon in front of him.... really dislike this kid... ;D ;D |

Jevees(dreaming awake) Just for the record....Shannon tried to let Burton in WIMTY.... and he asked her to stay....so I think we can be lucky and lose her in some curve of the way..... BTW.....it seems funny (to me, from my country I mean) that she is wearing the same uniform Andrea and her sister were wearing....here, every private school has a different plaid design or color....and these girls had the same jumpers the three of them....would that fancy academy Burton choose for Shannong like to dress her wealthy pupils the same that that catholic school?... 4becca1....? Anne was unfaithful to Burton during their marriage? What episode that they say this? I thought it was Burton who was unfaithful. Anyhow, I agree with you 4becca1. I also don't think that Burton will date Caroline because he knows her track records when it comes to men. She was married 3x already. I don't think Burton would want to be her 4th husband, just in case. Besides, LuLu and Nick will definitely be againts to them dating. That will certainly be the killer for a possible reconciliation b/w them. I know Nick never really cares who his father dates, but this is one is an exception, why? Because of LuLu of course. I'm sure he doesn't want her to become his step-sister. So, for Caroline and Burton dating? Uh,... I donnn't think so....nope, definitely not. Cassidy (glad to be back here again) |

:wave:....Hi, Cassidy!....I guess that episode was Family... I remember Burton and Liz talking in his car, at the parking of some place (the hospital?)....I dont remember well, but probably then. Yes, that double date wouldnt be a good idea at all. IMO, Nick and Lulu together is complicated enough to add more salt and pepper.....and Caroline looks like the kind of person who doesnt shut up if she thinks she has something meaningful to say....whether the others want to listen to her or not. |
