Has anyone seen the new advertisement for the upcoming series OC? It is starting August 5th as a test run. It is going to be on Fox, Tues., 9:00. Very sexy show, nice looking guy, shapely girls--not teenagey, but young adults. I think if this show works it could pull a large group away from The Guardian (the younger age group that they have been trying to appeal to for the demographic market research reports.) Hope I am wrong. Has anyone else seen these clips? What is your take?

Cec, OC is a new show on FOX. Advertisements were steamy. I'll watch more closely next time. I'm also going to watch when it comes on Aug 5th. The Guardian is not going to be shown the rest of this summer due to Stupid Cupid. I won't give CBS the satisfaction of watching it. So I will be watching OC. I'll inform all of you if this will be competiton or not.

I hope not! Hallmark (I mean here) has scheduled TG for august in the most obnoxious hours!....they DO want TG to sink, and that makes me really angry ....I cant imagine who is in charge of those things.... Whenever someone has a letter written for those guys in CBS please send it to me!....I´d be pleased to send one, but I´m not sure I can write anything decent enough!

Don't know who will star in OC , but Whoopie is a popular comedian and the first half of TG will be in trouble if Whoopie does well in rating. I hope the new Jag spinoff is a hit; it will help a lot.

Look up wireimage.com and scroll down to Fox's premiere party for the new series THE OC. Thought you might like to see the competition for Tuesday 9:00 time slot. Interesting. What bother's me more is the advertising for the new series on CBS. What gives? Sizzling!!! fourbeccaone

Cecilia, Okay, here's a little sum up about "OC".............from bakergirl. "The posh atmosphere of Orange County, Calif., becomes the new home of a troubled teenager (Benjamin McKenzie) who is taken in by a public defender (Peter Gallagher), in the premiere of this drama series. The youth's presence sets off a chain of changes for various people, including an attractive young neighbor (Mischa Barton) and her father (Tate Donovan)."

Actually, I watched The OC and I really enjoyed it, strange since it's obviously targeted for a younger audience (I'm 48).
I loved the guy in the lead, Benjamin McKenzie, I think his name is. Something about him, or his character I should say, is pretty compelling. The show isn't TG, nowhere near. But if it was in the same time slot as TG, I think it could do some real damage.
Fortunately, I think it switches to Thursdays at 9 about the time TG starts again.

Hi Total I was surprised how much I liked both the series and the actor. I am not in the target audience either (I am 49) I watched it with my 22 yr old son who also really liked it. As for the fall, that is why I have a second vcr. I am pretty fed up with 24, I may give OC a try. Nothing can take the place of TG with me! ;D

I watched the "OC" pilot also and thought it to be very good, and I had the same thoughts about this Benjamin McKenzie - atotaltotalfan - and I somehow wonder what it is about this guy....and I think it's his whole demeanor that somehow reminded me of a young Nick Fallin..... He's got that same sort of shy smile; doesn't say much but observes (the party). A good example was the morning after the party and after the wife told her husband laywer, Sandy Cohen, (Peter Gallagher) that she wanted the kid out of the house. You see him in the kitchen placing bacon on the table for breakfast, which he had just made, and leaving without any argument, or wasting words....just like what Nick Fallin would do - I imagen - ;D Benjamin McKenzie is 24 -- and from Austin, Texas.

I agree. I think it's the way he watches and listens, and how he gets sort of sullen sometimes. That seemed like a young NF to me too.

I don't know if anyone out there caught the second episode of OC, but I for one am now seriously glad it is changing to Thursdays when the real season starts. It was mighty good. In fact, even The New Yorker liked it! Shocking.
