I've been rewatching my Guardian tapes, especially from Season One. I'm struck once again what a family environment there is at LSP versus F&A for Nick. Alvin is the father-figure who keeps Nick in line. Laurie steps in as the mother who comforts, listens and advises Nick. Barbara and James are the siblings who teach Nick how to navigate through LSP and its cases...and Lulu is just Lulu. She's still trying to find her way in Season One too.
I really enjoy watching the bonds growing between Nick & Barbara and Nick & Laurie. I just wish there would have been more of both Barbara and Laurie in Season Three. Well, maybe, I should just be happy that there were three seasons of this wonderful show and not wish for more.
