So why include the story? Of course if you are planning a house you would want a room for your only son...

Agree with you, just liked Nick's facial expressions, but my favourite moment in family was definitely when he was telling Jeremy about what the treatment was going to do to his mum.

Although I also rather liked the look on his face when Jeremy said (when they were at dinner) something to Nick about your HI JINKS. Wonder if we will ever get to know what they were, sound intriguing.

I suppose that was one of the points of the ep - Nick immediately suspected what Jeremy was up to because he recognised a carbon copy of himself at that age. I wonder if Nick was a horrid little brat too?
Strange that Burton didn't pick up on it so quickly - maybe he was one of those type of parents who only noticed really outrageous behavior.
ie. Nick walks in with axe embedded in head, "Hi Nick how was your day" - five hours later "Who bled all over my carpet!" - you know - totally self-absorbed.

Loved that Leonie, and your are probably right, from what I have have heard about Lawyers Guns and Money, even though it is apparently patently obvious that something is up with Nick, I heard that Burton didn't even notice. And what do kids so if it is only extreme behavour that gets noticed - they act extreme of course.

Actually I've just remembered something else from 'Family' that was cute.
Remember in the conference with Aunt Liz, Burton, Jake and Nick (what was Nick doing there, by the way?) and Jake was quoting the slogans of her campaign - he was really enjoying it. Burton and Nick looked so amused. It was really daggy but sort of sweet too. I had to laugh - you couldn't image cool Nick doing that.

Yep, I have two boys, the eldest is currently in London, he is really very lucky as he was born when I was living in America and has a British citizen as a father so he has three passports i.e. Australian, American and British and he recently realised that with those, he has the world at his feet

Yes that was cute in the conference room - Jake was there because he was going to be acting as Liz lawyer cos Burton did not want to "do family", but later when he new she had cancer, he changed his mind.
