Alvin quickly jumps forward and hustles John (the killer) into a conference room to try to calm him down. John is close to tears as he puts the gun to his own temple. Alvin tries to talk him out of it, reminding John of his wife and child, but John pulls the trigger and the police rush in. As Alvin looks down, he sees not the adult John lying there dead, but the boy he had known.

F&F Kate goes by to see Jake after attending the wake. Before she and Jake had talked about how she knew the man’s son better than she knew the victim himself. She had mentioned that the son had killed himself a number of years before. Now she says that with her experience she can look back on it all and see the warning signs that he was an abused child.

Andrew stops by to see Nick. Nick wants to call the police immediately to let them know where Andrew is, but Andrew wants to talk first. He explains that in reality, he and a friend had been playing video games, and his friend became angry that Andrew kept winning, and hit at him. Later, they played again, and Andrew let him win, telling the other boy they could do “other” things as well. Emily sits and thinks for a few moments, then goes to see Lulu. She asks the details of the job again. Lulu outlines them: $31,000 a year plus benefits. Emily accepts the job, despite the shakiness of the organization.
