Shelter Nick is checking to see how Drew is doing. The manager (someone we’ve seen a couple of times before in this role) there says that frankly he is worried and thinks they should move Drew back to the hospital, as he continues to threaten to kill himself.
In Drew’s room, Nick again makes him take off the headphones, and tells him that they’re working on a foster home for him. The only problem is that the family may not be willing to take him as long as he keeps threatening suicide.

Burton’s office Nick tells Burton that his refusal of Sandra had nothing to do with her seeing Burton, but only that he feels she is merely an average lawyer. Burton angrily brings out her performance reviews from the past two years, in which Nick rated her excellent.
Nick doesn’t really say anything, but Burton informs Nick that she quit last night. Nick says that figures. Burton takes umbrage at this, asking what Nick means. Nick explains that it is to be expected—she started seeing the managing partner, so when she doesn’t get voted partner, she quits. Burton is angry at this.
