LSP Nick is cleaning out his office, and Lulu gives him the completed paperwork, then teases him about still having 20 minutes to go. Nick says that he was planning on stopping by the Manco Center on his way out. Lulu tells him she’s teasing, and they both grin.
She asks if this being completed is going to make things better, and Nick says yes, much better.

Manco Center Nick takes Kevin a picture of his baby. It’s not what he’d hoped for, but Kevin is thrilled. He thanks Nick and starts showing it around to all his friends, who don’t believe the picture is actually of his child. They also tease him by holding the picture away from him.

Nick goes over to talk to Chris. Chris says everything is fine, he doesn’t want anymore help from Nick. Before Nick leaves Chris, one of Kevin’s friends comes over and interrupts their conversation, asking if this is really a picture of Kevin’s kid. Nick has been using the pen Alvin gave him to write his number on a card for Chris, so that Chris can call him if he needs help. When Nick lays the pen down for a moment, Chris surreptitiously pockets it.

Kevin and the other black kids are getting rowdy, so the guard comes in and tells Nick he had better leave. As the door closes behind him, Nick looks back. At that moment, Chris takes the pen from his pocket, and stabs Kevin, who was standing near him, repeatedly in the chest.

Nick stays at the Manco Center while the guards get everything under control, giving his account to the police as they survey the crime scene. As a result, he misses the executive committee meeting. We see quick clips of the grim-faced partners waiting for Nick to arrive.

F&F Hours late, Nick finally arrives at the empty office and enters the conference room. Burton comes in, looking very grim. He brusquely asks Nick if he had a choice about making it to the meeting. Nick looks him in the eye and says no, but then changes and says yes. Burton says nothing, just turns and walks out, leaving Nick in the darkened conference room.
The End

Great summary Ginne! I'm not liking Jake! What's wrong with Burton, I thought Fathers always stick up for their sons no matter what? Sounds like Burton doesn't care about Nick's side of the story. Poor Nick

Burton is so used to being disappointed by Nick that he assumed the worst. Nick finally did the right thing and didn't ask for glory or praise...he just did it.
Where are we going from here? If Nick is really out, do the complications with Lulu force him to take over her job at LSP? I found it interesting that he put one painting from a kid in his planner, you could tell he was going to miss the place.
As for Jake, he needs to be punched in the piehole and, from the previews, he might just get it. They left it open for just about 1000 possibilities, which is why I love this show.

Does Burton love his son?
Just seeems like he took Shannon side in most things, did he actually care how Nick would feel about the adoption/foster thing regards to Shannon? and doesn't seem to care about what Nick feels anymore... better yet how does he feel about becoming a grandfather?
Although I like how he kind of stuck up for Nick in this episode before the last scene...
By the way I don't like to pick on Burton I'm just confused in how he feels about his emotionally detached son... I adored him in the first two seasons!

I think Burton is just so used to dissapointment with Nick. Also, the deal with Shannon is his way of trying to make amends for not being much of a father to Nick. I think he feels he let Nick down and he shoulders much of the blame for Nick's troubles. He cares for Nick alot and at the same time figures if he had only been there for his son earlier Nick would have chosen a different path.
