Yeah! :clapping: You’re back ! I kept trying to think of some naughty message to leave today—fake spoilers or such—but I behaved myself . Actually, I was and am supposed to be studying for an exam in the morning, but I’m coming up with all sorts of fun things to do instead . Luckily for us, Nan is an outside dog ! Actually, I’m almost ashamed to say it, but we’ve never given her a bath—Mum and I just haven’t gotten up the nerve . When she was a puppy, Nan seemed to love water—she even swam through one of the stock tanks to get to a pen on the other side of a gate. But now that she’s 5, she’s not terribly keen on water. In fact, the one time she actually stays at the barn is when it rains. She’ll come out when it’s just sprinkling, but during a heavy rain she stays at the barn.

Autumn is probably my favorite season, too. We’ve just begun spring, so it gets pleasantly warm during the day, but at night it’s still cold. It’s nice to see everything turning green and the flowers starting to bloom and all, but my allergies go crazy :dumb:! I was just thinking earlier this week, though, that it’s about time to get Nan’s brushes out and start trying to brush out her winter undercoat—uugh ! She has sooo much hair! You can brush and brush filling bags with the stuff you brush loose, and it still looks like you haven’t done anything! By the way--the Shih Tzu's next door are having a fun weekend ! My cousin's grandson is visiting for the weekend. Chase is 7 months old, and has discovered the joys of pulling hair ! He also loves playing with the puppies! I almost forgot--you asked what Lulu's boyfriend Bryan was like--here's a link to his picture at Nickfallin.com: nickfallin.com/images/episodes/115solidarity/solitarity214.jpg

Thanks! ;D But me be in bed at a reasonable time--never! This exam is on "Cultural Identity and Schooling" :puke: :puke: As you can tell, this is my favorite lecture  and my favorite way to spend my Saturday mornings (from 10:30 to 12:40). This is also my favorite instructor --not! He also teaches my Monday night lecture  (We have an exam in there Monday week).

Thanks for the picture. Brian .. eww. I wonder what she sees in him
I also don't brush Shane's hair religiously. We send him for the occasional haircut (and they bath him at the same time) ... I don't like to let his hair get too long. Occassional .. meaning ... every couple months
I wonder how Chase would like it if I pulled his hair. I have a thing about kiddies amusing themselves with animals. I have this cousin who got her 3 year old son a puppy ... and he is the sweetest, tiniest, saddest looking puppy ever ... and this 3 year old abuses him like hell ... and my cousin and her husband think it's oh so adorable. They told us "funny stories" about how he tried to drown the puppy once, and later everyone was wondering where the cries were coming from .. and they found the puppy in a bucket of water, trying to get out. And how he turns the puppy over once, and tries to drive over him with his bike. And how likes to swing him by the tail. Oh so adorable.
Also .. once I was standing right there .. and the puppy came up to sniff him, and he kicked him in the face ... HARD. Like .. just kicked him, and his head flew up and he yelped and ran away.
The good thing is ... my cousin and her family moved overseas last year, and now the puppy is living with my uncle (her parents) .. so he won't be abused anymore :clapping:

Good that your cousin moved away and put and end to that situation. Chase doesn’t pull hard, and the dogs don’t seem to mind. They still hang around him and try to lick his face—they don’t even growl at him. I don’t like kids being mean to animals either. But I do love watching Chase with Chigger and Sergio—it’s hard to tell who is more excited to play—the baby or the dogs! Chase is mostly using them to pull-up, just as he does everything. He’s mastered crawling, but now he wants to run! Yeah, I'm a senior associate! If I didn't have an exam in the morning ! I guess I'll just have to wait for tomorrow afternoon. P.S. Chase doesn’t have any real hair yet, so there’s nothing to pull .

Don’t worry, when he gets bigger, they'll teach Chase not to hurt the dogs. Dogs rule the roost at his grandma’s house . Besides the two little dogs they have a beagle and his daddy has a border collie. His grandma named the dog Sergio because she got him right before she went in to have surgery after her second diagnosis of breast cancer . The Sergio:surgery connection isn’t one I’d make, but it works for her ! I guess I'd better turn in . I'm just so enthused about this exam tomorrow . Ta for now!

Happy Easter, everyone 8) The exam was just lovely, everything you could hope for in an exam . Actually, as far as this instructor is concerned, it wasn’t too bad (he is a former high school psychology teacher and essentially psycho ). And since I take exams very quickly, I got out early :clapping:. Now I’m home, Mum and Daddy are out campaigning (Mum is a local official and she’s up for re-election), and I have the house to myself . Lovely!! I’ll have to try to get a picture of Chase to scan and send—he’s adorable! His full name is Nathaniel Chase (it was originally Chase Alan, then Nathaniel James, but that is a long, drawn out story!). And appropriately enough, when I saw Chase last night, he  all over me! I can definitely tell spring is here—the pear tree next to where I park my car seems to be buzzing from all the bees in its flowers! Time to go see if there is any  cooling!

I was posting in the other thread and didn't realise you were in here
Nathaniel Chase ... what a cute name :grinyes: Maybe I won't pull his arm after all
Your mom should take Nan out campaigning .. :grinyes: Let her know I expect full credit for that idea after she wins :clapping: What sort of official is she ?

Mum is a magistrate for our county. There are four magistrates and a judge executive who serve on the fiscal court, which makes the decisions and local ordinances for the county. It’s not supposed to be a full-time job, but Mum makes it one. She used to work for a bank as well, but she’s disabled now, and so concentrates mostly on the magistrate’s position and on driving me crazy :hit:. I’ll tell her to take Nan along. They would have to take my dad’s truck, though, Mum won’t let Nan in her car ! Nan loves to ride in the truck. In fact, she thinks if the truck leaves, she’s supposed to be in it!
