Not that I'm anxious or anything.
BTW I won't be refreshing as much today - the Board's admins have found a way to frustrate my pop-up-filter. Very annoying. Very annoying. I can't even put the stupid ads in the background. (Sorry mb, but it doesn't make for a very pleasant browsing experience. Guess who is considering boycotting hotel.net and findwho just out of principle! ):cussing:

Lulu, who is seated at the table, along with Brian, Nick, Mary Gressler, Jake, and Amy Hecht, tells Burton she has placed a bid in the silent auction on the antique law books he donated. Burton, proud, asks how much she bid. “One hundred dollars,” she replies. Burton looks less happy, and becomes even more so as Brian interjects that he thinks that is too much.

Lulu, trying to make conversation, turns to Mary and tells her how good it is that she and Burton have kept in touch. She says that that so rarely happens. Mary quietly replies that she is living with Burton. Nick overhears this, and is both surprised and not pleased.

Meanwhile, Alvin is introducing Amy Hecht, telling how only one year ago she was addicted to cocaine and Social Services had taken her child, who had been born addicted to coke. Now, only one year later, she has turned her life around, and is being presented with a lifetime achievement award.
When she returns to the table, she and Jake start chatting.

Amy Hecht’s apartment The next morning, Jake is awakened by the sound of a crying baby. He turns to Amy, who is slow to wake up. He greets her, asks her if she wants to go get some coffee. She doesn’t answer immediately, but turns over, grabs a cigarette, lights it, takes a long drag, then says she can’t, because of the baby. Getting up and heading to the bathroom, she stands before the mirror and snorts some coke, before turning and telling Jake “You can come back tonight, if you like.” She then turns and goes to attend to the still-crying baby.

F&F Burton and Nick enter the conference room to meet with Frank from County General Hospital. As Frank and Burton start talking, Mary enters with a tray of refreshments. As Burton continues talking, Frank tries to change the topic to that of Mary, as he is clearly interested. Burton doesn’t appear too happy about this.

Does Amy snort the coke right there in front of Jake? Is so what is his reaction?

F&F, Nick’s office Mary enters, bringing in a package that has come for Nick. Nick thanks her and tells her she can put it on the table. As she takes it over, she comments that his plant is dying. Nick is a bit cool, as he is obviously busy, and she continues her chatter, moving the plant to better light. Turning away from the window, she compliments Nick on his suit, brushing her hand on the sleeve. Nick tells her that his father didn’t tell him about she and Shannon living with him. Mary emphasizes that it isn’t what Nick thinks, that she and Burton are just friends.

Yes, Spunky, she does, sort of. Her back is to Jake, but he can see her in the mirror over the sink, as she isn't hiding it. He looks very surprised.

Got a question: when did Nick get chummy with Mary? as last time I checked the last time he talked with her was in Testimony... which I'm watching next Tuesday :bouncing:

LSP, Nick’s closet Sam (the transvestite) is explaining to Nick how he has raised Timmy since he was three years old. He explains that Timmy’s mom died when he was three, and now his dad died in a motorcycle accident three months ago. Same says that one night some of his friends were over. Timmy had already gone to bed, and they were downstairs talking, when Social Services showed up for an inspection. Unfortunately, one of the friends was smoking marijuana, so they took Timmy away.
Nick explains that it may be difficult as Sam never adopted Timmy, but he will try to arrange a shelter hearing.

They're not chummy, Hales. Nick is very cool and professional with her. And that is the only time we've seen them talk previously.

LSP, Lulu’s office Brian comes in to tell Lulu that County General wants to settle, but that he won’t even consider it for less than one million dollars. They discuss this for a moment, then Brian goes to leave. As he opens the door, Nick comes in, carrying in the box of law books that Lulu won in the silent auction. Brian is not pleased to see Nick.
