Olsen house Lulu takes the box in and opens it, but instead of being filled with law books, it is filled with old photo albums and slides of the Fallin family when Nick was young. As she starts to look through one of the albums, she smiles.

Basically, Nick breathed! No, really, there is just a strong tension of rivalry between the two of them.

Burton’s place, kitchen Shannon is talking with Burton and Mary about a test grade. They congratulate her, and she goes off to bed. Burton pours he and Mary a glass of wine, and then he gets her to slow dance with him (“At Last” is playing on the stereo). As they dance, he kisses her. They break apart, and he apologizes, but she tells him it’s okay if he wants to kiss her. He says he’s going to turn in for the night and walks away, but she calls out to him, saying that maybe they can try tomorrow night.

Amy Hecht’s apartment This is apparently a hot encounter, and after the first 10 seconds or so, Jake finally comes out of the throes of passion long enough to tell her that while he doesn’t usually like what she just did, she was fantastic. He reaches over to the nightstand for a drink, setting a prescription bottle on the table as he picks up the drink. As they’re basking in the glow and chatting, (she having lit another cigarette and let him have a drag) the baby starts crying in the other room. Instead of going to check on the baby, she starts kissing Jake again, murmuring, “So it’s been a while for you, huh?”<br>

F&F, conference room Burton and Nick, representing County General, meet with Brian, his attorney, and Lulu. Burton makes the hospital’s offer, $20,000. Brian is livid, but Burton tells them to think about it. They leave the conference room.

That's where they said they were going, Hales, but I don't know if they ever left. We're not told how long they've been there.

Yes, I would say she is. But not overly so. I mean, Lulu is supportive, but she isn't gushing over Brian or anything.

In the hallway, Nick looks through the glass to the reception area, where he sees Frank from the hospital chatting up Mary, who seems more than happy to chat with him.

F&F, Nick’s office Jake has come in to chat with Nick, closing the door. He’s telling Nick about Amy and her baby and the drugs, and Nick, while admitting she’s good looking, recommends that Jake should stay away from her.
