Okay, we'll skip the Alvin and Lulu side stories . We next see Nick in the Incline. He comes in, goes up to the bar and orders a number of tequila shots in quick succession. Thus fortified and able to hide his depression and drug-induced mania, he joins Alvin's party.

At the gathering, everyone drinks, Alvin gets sloshed, Nick continues to drink, and Lulu gets a bit tipsy.
The party starts to break up. James gathers the sloshed Alvin up and heads him out the door. Outside, they run into Burton, who is standing outside smoking a cigarette. They chat a moment, and then Lulu comes out to hail a cab. As James and Alvin leave and Lulu grabs her taxi, somebody asks Burton if he's leaving, and he comments something like, "No, I'm going to stick around and make sure Nick makes it home okay."

Meanwhile, inside the bar, Nick is having his confrontation with the drunken louts. They've knocked him to the ground and one is kicking him in the gut. Burton glances through the window, sees what is happening, and rushes in to help. Burton chases the louts off, and takes Nick in his arms. Nick is in tears, and is mumbling to Burton, "I'm such a screw-up" and other such negative self talk. Burton tells him he's not, and helps him to get up. As the scene ends, we see Burton supporting Nick as they slowly walk out of the Incline.

No, I didn't sigh in frustration!!! I'm just perplexed. Arria hasn't posted screen captures from it yet, and I refer to them for prompts!! I tell you what--why don't we save Privilege for tomorrow *Hales groans loudly*. That will give me a chance to try to remember all that happens!! And not to be a wet blanket, but I have to go to bed earlier tonight since I have to deal with the raging bundles of hormones known as students tomorrow!! ;D

Let's see--after Privilege comes Family (that's a good one! ;D). Then we get In Loco Parentis (that's the one where Lulu 's Nick *blush*). Then comes Solidarity (who can forget Naked Nick  ).

Sure, I don't mind waiting.... sleep? I tried to sleep from just before midnight last night and I groggily woke up at 5.45am... before staggering out of bed at 6.25... *shrug*
Students... good luck with them! ;D

Got a question about Loco Parentis thing... it says that Nick and Lulu are in a hostage dilemma ... I was wondering if Burton ever found that out? *hoping to hear the question* And Nick's reaction in Family when he discovered his mother was taking pills?

Nick and Lulu aren't the ones being held hostage. A woman, who is Nick's client (Lulu is second chair on the case), is holding her baby hostage because she is afraid Children's Services is going to take the baby away. Nick and Lulu wind up spending the night at Legal Services watching over the woman's two sons, who are about 6 and 8. Burton, meanwhile, is having eye surgery, an outpatient procedure, and Nick is supposed to pick him up at the eye hospital afterwards. Nick is a bit late, appologizes to Burton, and says that "something came up" (or something to that effect) in explaining his tardiness. As far as I know, Burton never knows about the hostage situation. Well, take it easy for the rest of the day! Kick back, relax, have some  and , and give your brothers orders on how to tidy up the house!

Nick doesn't really register shock at the time (they're sitting around the dinner table). However, later in the car, he asks Jeremy who told him about his mum taking the pills.

Thanks... will do ... you sleep well and good luck with the students! Still I'm not surprised he asked Jeremy... I don't suppose Burton had a 'uh-oh' face?
