I won't be here (sorry ) for the summary but will read it as soon as possible. I want to know all about Nick's uni friend and any tidbits of gossip about his college days.

F&F, Burton’s office Rob (Nick’s old college friend and friend from New York) and his partner are explaining their product to Nick and Burton. They call it KidFinder. They do a demo in which Gretchen (who Burton refers to as his secretary) goes out and they track her and talk to her on the phone.
They want F&F to help them prepare their business plan, file their patent application, etc. Nick explains that F&F’s retainer is $25,000 and asks if Rob can afford that. Rob says no, but that he’s willing to cut them in on 2% of the company if it succeeds.

Nick isn’t too thrilled with this, but Burton interjects and says 4%. Rob agrees, pointing out that if he’s successful that 4% will be worth $1 million. Burton asks him to step out for a moment so he can talk with Nick.

As soon as the door closes, Nick says he recommends against representing Rob, that he’s known him for a long time, and doesn’t think Rob will be successful. Burton points out that if the product fails to sell they will only be out about 100 man hours, but if it sells they’ll make a lot. “Besides,” he says to Nick, “we owe Rob a favor for what he did for you.”<br> Cut to opening credits

LSP Lulu comes out of her office as if looking for someone. Alvin comes over and asks her to take a case, but she says she can’t as she’s tied up with this one particular case right now.
The guy Lulu is waiting for, Jules, shows up, but without her client, a boy named Dee Carter. When she asks where Dee is, Jules explains that Dee gave him the slip again. Lulu is clearly frustrated, as this is the third time Dee has skipped out on their appointment. Jules says he doesn’t know where Dee is, but Lulu says that as it’s Wednesday, she has an idea.

A comic book store LuLu
finds Dee, who is very apologetic about missing the appointment. He asks if they can’t reschedule, but LuLu
says they can’t as they’ve rescheduled three times already. She reminds him that if they don’t have this meeting, Children’s Services will insist on removing him from his cousin’s care and putting him back in a group home as he's skipped school 33 days and therefore think Jules can't control him. Before they go, Dee picks up a comic book and shows it to LuLu
. He says the superhero woman in it is just like LuLu
, but LuLu
is prettier. He reads the name of the character off to her, but messes up the letters as he does.

LSP Lulu goes to see Alvin, telling him that she thinks Dee Carter is dyslexic and she wants to have him tested. Alvin mentions a doctor they sometimes use, but tells Lulu that maybe she’s becoming a bit too involved with Dee.

LSP, James’ office A man comes to see James. He is a pizza delivery man, and while he was delivering a pizza the other night, the automotive dealer from whom he bought the car (used, for $3,000) had the car towed because he missed one payment. He says because his car has been repossessed he cannot do his job, and if he doesn’t get it back within the week he will lose the job. Fallin & Fallin is the firm that represents the dealer. Jake says he’ll see what he can do.

F&F Rob is talking with Nick and Burton. There are some financers showing interest in the product, but they want to see some real-life trials, not just Gretchen going for doughnuts.

A Health club James and Jake leave a squash court and head through the club. James brings up his client with the repossessed car, asking if Jake can help. Jake says he’s far too busy right now, that he’s working on a class-action lawsuit worth $300 million. James persists, asking him to try. Jake changes the topic, asking James if he’s thought over joining the club, explaining that it’s a bit pricey, but he thinks the manager will give James a lower rate.

F&F, conference room Rob is showing the KidFinder device to Jules, Dee, and Lulu and explaining how it works as Nick looks on. He puts it on Dee’s wrist and enters information on where they live, where Dee goes to school, etc., into his computer. He hands Jules a pager, explaining that whenever Dee leaves his “zone,” the pager will go off and alert Jules. Dee asks if Lulu will get a pager too, and Rob says that if Dee wants her to have one, he’ll give her one. Dee says he does.

While Nick explains the contractual issues to Jules (regarding the trial period and the payment of the $500), Dee tries to take the “watch” off. When he complains to Rob, Rob points out that the latch meets military specifications and can only be removed by use of a “key,” in this case Lulu and Jules’ pagers.

F&F, Jake’s office James comes by to again ask Jake for help with his client’s repossessed car. Jake tries to pass the whole thing off to a paralegal, until James points out that he’s found a problem in the contract. The contract says the buyer will make payments monthly, but the seller sends out bills every four weeks, which equals 13 payments in 12 months. James leaves, and Jake starts getting worried.
