F&F conference room Nick and Rob are meeting with potential investors, explaining that they need $5 million to start production on the device.

LSP The pager Lulu has goes off, showing that Dee has left his zone. She immediately calls Jules to see if Dee is with him, and then turns to the computer screen to start tracking him. Printing out the information, she sets off to track Dee down.

A street corner in East Liberty Lulu is driving along in her navy blue Volks Wagon. She stops at the location shown on the print-out map, and sees Dee talking to some men. Dee comes over to her and says he’s sorry he left his zone, but some kid stole his bike, so he had to come after him. Lulu, eyeing the three men, asks if one of them took the bike. Dee says no, that they helped him recover it.
Lulu isn’t totally convinced, but tells Dee to get in the car, they have a doctor’s appointment to get to.

LSP Alvin wanders into Lulu’s office and notices the lap top open with the tracker on the screen. He becomes engrossed in watching Dee’s movements on the map.

Doctor’s office The doctor has finished testing Dee for dyslexia. He says that Dee is borderline, and he doesn’t want to label him. Lulu sends Dee out to the waiting room for a minute while she talks to the doctor. She explains Dee’s situation, and how if Dee actually is dyslexic he will have a better chance of staying with his cousin. The doctor finally agrees to report that Dee is dyslexic.

LSP Lulu comes in to find Alvin sitting at her desk watching the tracker. She says something about it being neat to watch, and Alvin blows up on her. He says it’s a Big Brother device, and that it exploits children because all their actions and movements are stored on this website. Lulu explains that she has several other clients interested in trying it, if only for the money, which they need.

LSP lobby Alvin is trying to convince a girl and her foster mother not to use the device, but they say they need the money, and agree to it.

Nick comes into the office later and Alvin chews him out for exploiting their clients by using them as test subjects. Nick explains that he thought it might be useful, and that he cleared it with Lulu. Neither is a happy camper.

The Incline Burton and Nick are having dinner. Rob and his partner come in all excited. The investor is definitely interested, but this means they need to “punch up” the business plan tonight. Burton asks if it can’t wait, and Rob says no. Rob and his partner say they’ll be back in a minute and head to the restroom.

Nick, suspicious, follows them, and catches them snorting cocaine. Rob tries to brush it off, saying it’s just to help them get through all the work tonight, but Nick is obviously livid, and walks out.
