F&F The investor, Rob, Lulu, Nick, and Burton are in Burton’s office watching the tracker when the LSP client they’ve been watching (Raella, the girl Alvin tried to talk out of it) returns. The potential investor says that this was hardly a good test, as she didn’t try to hide from them or leave the area or anything.
Rob, determined to sell the project, switches the tracker over to Dee’s frequency. As they watch, Dee is moving out of his zone at about 9 mph, which Rob says indicates he is on his bike. They decide to track him, and all head for their cars.

Street corner in East Liberty They track Dee to the same place where Lulu found him before. Rob says that they just missed him, and now he is moving at 38 mph, so he’s probably in a car. They all pile back into their cars and head off after him.

A parking lot or something down near the river Rob says the tracker indicates Dee is here. The look around, but the place is apparently empty. The investor is not happy, asking how it could be wrong.
Nick catches a glimpse of something bright over by some barrels by a wall. Going over, he sees it’s a comic book, something Dee was never without.

On instinct, he looks around, and sees part of a shoe around the edge of one of the barrels. Walking closer, he sees it is Dee. He touches the boy’s leg, then rises to his feet.
Lulu and the others are over near the cars talking. Walking towards them, Nick catches Lulu’s eye, and she comes over to meet him. He quietly tells her what he’s found (we don’t hear this, only see it). She is distraught and tries to go to where Dee’s body lays, but Nick holds her back, comforting her as she starts to sob.

Later that evening, the police are there going over the crime scene. Nick walks over to Lulu with a glass of water, which she refuses. He asks if she needs a ride, but she says she needs to talk to the police.

Nick walks over to Burton. Rob rushes over. He’s excited, telling them how the police are thrilled with the information he can provide them with from KidTracker. He says that this could lead to an endorsement from the police department.

Nick asks Burton if he’s ready to go. Burton asks about Lulu, if she needs a ride. Nick says she still has to talk to the police. Burton comments that she seems pretty upset, and asks if she has anyone she can turn to right now. Nick simply says “Her mother.”

Sitting in a diner, Burton mentions that Rob told him what happened in New York and why Nick had him call. Nick looks at him sardonically and asks “Which version?”
Burton looks a bit surprised and says that Rob told him how he took Nick to the emergency room and Nick ran out into the snow without his shirt.
Nick just looks at his father with a jaded expression and replies “That never happened. I had a little trouble, I asked him to call you.”
Well, Hales, Nick tried to be sensitive, but Lulu just pushed him away.

LSP Lulu comes in, still upset. She tells Alvin that they’ve arrested someone, that the drug dealer confessed to killing Dee, and that Dee had been making deliveries for him. She is in shock, telling Alvin how she met the drug dealer face-to-face, and even went to his apartment looking for Dee. She feels responsible for Dee’s death, saying that thanks to her the dealer probably thought Dee was talking to the police.
As Lulu goes on into her office, Alvin, still clearly unhappy with Nick, goes over to Nick (who has watched and heard everything) and tells him he doesn’t have to stay the rest of the day. Nick says he can stay, but Alvin tells him they’re pretty well covered for the day.

F&F Nick comes in. Jake and Rob are in the lobby talking excitedly. Nick goes into Burton’s office. Before they have a chance to talk, Rob comes in. He says he understands that this is a difficult time for Nick and he’s sorry about the boy, but the detective is now endorsing KidTracker, saying how it helped them find Dee’s body. The investor is willing to go for it, and Rob wants to close the deal immediately.
Burton tries to talk him into delaying the deal for a day or two, but Rob refuses. He point-blank tells them “If you don’t help me close this deal right now, I’ll find someone else who will.”
