Not that I'm anxious to find out what happened or anything.

With this complete, Jed will be left with the large warehouse facility. He tells Nick and Burton that he would like to turn it into a small concert venue. Nick is very enthused by this idea.

LSP A young woman, Tracy Baxter, with an eleven-month-old baby comes to Lulu for help. She’s a single parent and has had to drop out of school and go to work to support her baby. When Lulu asks, Tracy explains that when her parents found out she was not only pregnant, but pregnant with a bi-racial baby, they kicked her out of the house. Her boyfriend and she has set a wedding date, and he had applied for married student housing at university, but while driving over to see her one night he was hit by a drunk driver and killed. When Lulu asks about his family, Tracy explains that he only had his mother, and that she doesn’t like Tracy. Lulu says that Michael, the baby, is entitled to a portion of his father, Eddie’s, insurance settlement.

The Incline Nick is meeting a client, Caroline Novak. As they are exchanging pleasantries, Lulu walks over and says “Mother, what are you doing here? I didn’t think you were due in until next week?”<br> Caroline introduces Nick as her new corporate lawyer, and Nick and Lulu explain that they work together at LSP. Caroline insists that Lulu sit down with them, even though Lulu explains that she is only picking up a takeout order. Nick grins continually, clearly pleased that Lulu is trapped by her mother.
Hearing that Nick also works at LSP, Caroline points out to her daughter--"See, Nick is able to volunteer there too and still work for a profitable firm." Lulu blushes at her mother's nagging, and Nick sheepishly points out that "I'm not exactly volunteering there."
Caroline brushes that all away, telling Lulu that regardless, Nick has found balance with his work, something she should do.

Did Nick know that Caroline was Lulu's mother before that?

As they are all seated in the booth (Caroline and Lulu on one side, Nick on the other), Caroline explains some of her business theories. Nick is clearly impressed, as Lulu looks on in distaste. When Caroline concludes by saying that she is now moving her company home, Lulu reminds her “You always said Pittsburgh is a one horse town—,“ Caroline smiles and replies “But it’s awfully nice when you own the horse!”
At this, Lulu’s takeout order is delivered to the table, and she leaves.

Nope! In fact, we see the first killer grin when he makes the discovery! That killer smile is onscreen quite a bit in this episode. :thud:

Lulu’s house Caroline shows up at Lulu’s house. It has been agreed that she will stay there during her visit, and Lulu has apparently given her a key to the house. When she enters she is surprised to see Lulu there, as Lulu had said she had a meeting. Lulu explains that she had to stop by for some papers for her meeting. Caroline asks where Brian is, and Lulu says he is in New Mexico because his mother is ill. She also tells Caroline that no, he hasn’t found anything yet.

Lulu tells Caroline that the vodka is in the freezer, and to make herself at home, then leaves for the meeting. Moments after Lulu leaves, the phone rings, and the answering machine kicks in. It is a real estate agent wanting to set up an appointment to show the house. Caroline is clearly surprised.

They don't specify which, but from context, and the fact that she is so shocked by the phone message, she clearly means work.
