Copeland’s aviary Burton goes to see Copeland again. Copeland has begun building birdhouses again. When Burton confronts him, Copeland says that when his wife was alive, he didn’t tell her enough that he loved her. This is his way of doing so. Burton points out that after all this time, maybe Copeland is doing it for himself.

Judge Damsen’s court room This time Mr. Plunkett is asking for sole custody of Kyle since his ex-wife is now in jail for obstructing the previous custody order. Nick and a man from Children’s Services recommend that as Kyle does not know his father very well, he remain in foster care for the moment and that his father be slowly given custody of him, giving them a chance to get to know each other better. He also recommends therapy for Kyle. Judge Damsen agrees.
Out in the hall, Kyle is angry and wants to know when he can go back with his mom. Nick says he doesn’t know, and Kyle slugs him in the stomach before stomping off.

LSP Burton comes by to see Nick (in the broom closet!). He jokingly compliments Nick on his office, commenting that he needs “a plant—or something!” Nick grins and says “Or something!”<br> Burton apologized to Nick for screwing up the deal with DBH. He then tells Nick that he’s talked with Mrs. Thomas, the wife of the CEO they worked with who sponsors an aviary, and she has agreed to give Mr. Copeland a job working in the aviary with the birds. And Mr. Copeland has agreed in return to keep his bird houses around his house to a minimum. Nick compliments him.
Burton then tells Nick that the City is issuing $50 million in municipal bonds, and that he wants Nick to handle it, as he knows Nick enjoys doing that sort of thing. Nick thanks him.

LOL, Spunky!
You would love the expression on Nick's face--sort of surprise mixed with "the kid needs the therapy!"

Garage Albert Gregg shows up again, wanting to know why he has been issued with a restraining order. He says that because of what Mrs. Olsen said to him a few months ago he now has a job, a girl, and a place to live. He says he wouldn’t do anything to hurt Mrs. Olsen, he owes her too much.

Olsen house Lulu pulls up in front of the house (it is the one from Shelter, by the way), and gets out of her car. As she does, a cab pulls up behind her. She looks apprehensive, until Brian gets out. They greet each other, she says something about him getting in early and how she’s glad he’s back, and they embrace warmly before heading up the steps into the house.

No sauce bottles. White table cloths, Kim in a strappy black dress, very classy looking place.

Cut across the street and behind a chain-link fence, where Nick sits in his car watching. His face shows both disappointment, disgust, longing, and a bit of determination.

Cut to the restaurant—Kim still waiting, glances at her watch, picks up her cell phone, and dials.

Back to Nick—picks up his cell phone, looks at the display, sees it is Kim, and turns off the ring.

Kim, not reaching Nick, gets up, picks up her purse, and clearly disappointed and angry, leaves the restaurant.
