It's sort of sounding that way, Cecilia. Even Lulu thinks so, and confronts Alvin about it later.

As all this transpires, we see a very surprised Lulu standing about five feet behind James, listening to everything. James leaves. Nick comes out, sees Lulu, and asks her if it’s true that she’s going for the interview on Friday. She tells him yes, and he sarcastically thanks her for telling him. Lulu apologizes, explaining she just made the decision. As Nick starts to go back into his office she asks if they’re still on for lunch. Nick says he can’t, but can they reschedule for tomorrow.
(I think Lulu is starting to feel excluded at this point, like everyone wants her to go.)

F&F, partners meeting Nick is presiding, and they take a vote as to whether or not to make Clay Sims an offer. Eight partners, including Nick, vote yes, Burton votes no, and Jake abstains. When Nick asks if there is a problem, Jake says no, he just abstains. Nick says that now is the time to speak up if he has an objection, but Jake continues to abstain.
As they go to leave, Burton tells Nick he thinks it’s a mistake, that they’re giving too much money and power to a complete stranger. (Hmmm. Does this sound familiar?)
As they’re talking, Shannon comes into the main office. Burton sees her, and tells her he’ll be right with her. Turning back to Nick, he sees Nick’s angry expression and tries to explain that he’s helping Shannon plan her birthday party. When Nick doesn’t say anything, Burton says, “It’s her birthday for chrissakes, Nick.”
Courtroom Nick is with Taleek this time. James has come in and is sitting in the back. Judge Damsen, realizing that a lot of Taleek’s anger stems from the assault, asks him for details about the incident. As Taleek starts to describe the situation and tells where he lives, we see the realization hit Nick that Taleek is the man James beat up six months ago, the man James believes killed Levi.
Hallway Nick confronts James, asking if Taleek is in fact the man he and three others beat up. James will neither confirm nor deny it.

LSP meeting room Nick explains to Taleek that Judge Damsen has ruled that things will remain as they are but that she will revisit the case in six months, provided Taleek gets counseling. Nick explains that if they want to fight this, he needs Taleek to tell him about any arrests and convictions he has, any gang affiliations, etc. Taleek tells Nick that he’s not in any gang. Nick pushes him, but Talee, maintaining that he is not in a gang, walks out.
James, witnessing the walkout, comes in the meeting room to ask Nick what he’s doing. Nick explains that Taleek claims no gang affiliation and that he only has two misdemeanor arrests, nothing else. James tries to deny these facts, and tells Nick to forget all of this and move on.

F&F conference room Nick has called an impromptu meeting. He announces that Clay Sims is joining the firm and will be bringing three of his associates with him. Jake tells Sims that he already has a case lined up for them, and starts to describe it. Sims very condescendingly laughs at Jake and tells him he prefers to stick to white collar stuff, and leave these little cases to the “ham and eggers.”
After the meeting, Jake confronts Clay, telling him that he stood up for Clay, and that he is NOT a “ham and egger.” Clay just keeps making snide comments.

LSP Alvin and James are meeting again. As Lulu comes to talk to Alvin, we hear Alvin telling James he likes his new ideas. Lulu confronts Alvin. She tells him that she has done a little background work on the woman from Berkeley Legal Clinic in preparation for the interview, and she’s discovered that the woman graduated from Pitt in the same class as Alvin.

Alvin, seeing where this is going, says it was a big class. Lulu, still angry, says that there were only eight people on the Law Review and Alvin and this woman were two of them, so they must have known each other. She then point-blank asks Alvin if he set this interview up in an attempt to get rid of her.
Alvin, trying to be conciliatory, explains that he didn’t want Lulu to know that he knew this woman because if Lulu got the job she might think it was because he had connections, not because of her own merit. This calms Lulu a bit, but not much.
