Nick says “Shouldn’t you be on your honeymoon right now?” She brushes the question aside, but Nick interrupts her again, saying “Lulu, I wanted to be with you. I should have said something before, I thought I made it clear.” The pain is obvious on his face. She looks him squarely in the eye and replies “You did.” She tries to ask her case question again. “Does Brian know you’re here?” She tries to change the subject. Nick says “I just want to know, does Brian know you’re here?”

Did she really only visit him just to discuss his cases. or was that just an excuse?

She looks at him. You know, I just thought Id come by to see you. You know they searched me before I came in? Nick gets a sardonic grin. Did they make you take your clothes off? She blushes a bit and turns away quickly, saying "You can be such an ass." "Because they did me, but thats another story," finishes Nick.
As she looks like shes going to jump up and walk out, he grins and tells her the information she needs about the case. He grins at her again, she smiles back, and she gets up to leave. As she opens the door, she turns for a last look at him.

We find out that Mandy has died, and Belden subpoenas Shannon. Burton goes to see Mary, who is devastated, and gives her his condolences, telling her he can’t even begin to imagine what she’s going through.

Whoa... poor Mary ... okay and aww for Burton!
I wrote something in the General thread... but thats another story entirely.
Dumb question but why was Shannon subpoened (sp?) again?

Nick’s Probation Hearing We see Nick, Belden, and Burton approaching the court room. Nick is in a suit, but handcuffed. Belden is giving them the results of Mandy’s autopsy, which showed that she died of heart failure due to prolonged cocaine use.

She was subpoenaed because Mary was not going to let her testify. This way she was required to let Shannon testify.

Surely the head injury would have been a contributing factor? The doctor said she wasn't going to recover from that in any event.

Shannon is on the witness stand. Belden asks if she told Burton that Mandy took drugs earlier that day, and she keeps saying she doesn’t know. They keep asking her to answer yes or no, until she finally says no, she didn’t. She steps down.

The judge starts to say that she sees no clear evidence that the drugs weren’t Nick’s and is clearly going to say he broke his probation, when Mary stands up. She tells the judge that Darger had come to her and told her to call him if Mandy ever showed up or she would be in trouble with the police. Mandy did show up that day, with Shannon, and Mary decided not to call Darger. She said Mandy had asked her for some money to buy some things for Shannon. Mary had gotten paid that day (it was a Friday), so she gave Mandy $100. Mandy left, and when she returned, Mary went in her room and looked through Mandy’s things because she suspected her of buying drugs with the money. She found a plastic bag of drugs in Mandy’s purse. She confronted Mandy about it, and Mandy took Shannon and the drugs and left. The judge asks her to confirm that this occurred the day of the accident, which Mary does.

The hallway outside the courtroom Nick is standing there, this time with no handcuffs. Burton walks over to Mary and thanks her. He beckons Nick over and introduces him to Mary and Shannon. Nick thanks them, and they leave.
Burton and Nick stand there. Burton smiles at Nick and tells him he has Nick’s mail down in his car. It’s mostly bills and things, but there was a parking ticket for $38 dollars. Nick is about to tell Burton something, but Burton interrupts him, saying “Come here, I want to show you something.”
He takes Nick down the hall. As they walk, he asks Nick what his plans are, if he’s going back to C&A. Nick tells him no, he and Jake are starting their own firm.

They enter another courtroom. Burton proudly tells Nick that this is his courtroom. Nick compliments him on it, and Burton explains about the robing ceremony at the swearing-in to Nick. He then tells Nick that he wants Nick to be the one to “robe” him.
Nick tries to decline, saying that he doesn’t think he would reflect very well on Burton right now, but Burton stops him, telling him “I want it to be you, son.”
Roll the credits.
