The Intersection
A little boy sits staring into space. In the background you hear adults yelling in extreme anger. As we pan out and see more of the boy, we see numerous tops on the coffee table in front of him, all spinning.

Lulu’s car (which is a Volkswagon Passat, btw)
Lulu is telling Nick that she got them a “place” to go after the wedding.

The mom is putting the boy in the back seat of her black Suburban. She gets into the front seat, still upset, and they start driving. There is something on the dashboard he wants, so he gets up to get it (no, he’s not buckled in). She yells at him to sit down, that he knows he can’t get up while she’s driving. His name is Kenny. He tries to get it again, and she turns, forcing him back into his seat. She doesn’t even see the Passat, as she is turned to Kenny in the backseat as she plows into the side of the car.

Reminds me a bit of the first scene in Dead Calm - a Nicole Kidman movie.

Church
We see Barbara have her cramp, as Alvin comes to check on her. Evan is up front with the minister, he whispers something to the minister, heads to the back of the church.

Crash scene
Nick comes to. He turns to look at Lulu. As he looks at her and says “Oh my God, Lulu!,” he sees Kenny through the window. Kenny is standing beside the Suburban. Nick is a bit disconcerted by Kenny’s piercing stare, and looks back to Lulu. There is blood running down the right side of his face, down to his collar. There are scrapes on his left cheek.

As the camera moves back, we see the whole crash scene, Nick in the passenger seat, Lulu slumped over the wheel of her car, Kenny’s mother, her arm and head hanging out the driver’s side window of the Suburban, Kenny standing by the back door of the Suburban.

Hospital, Emergency Room doors
LuLu’s face, her head immobilized in a restraint, being brought in by EMTs. As the view widens, we see the EMTs are Evan and his best man. Nick is right there with them, a handkerchief held to his face to stop the bleeding. As the trauma doctor comes out and takes over from the EMTs, Evan tells Nick he needs to have his hand taken care of, and says he’ll get him a doctor.
As they walk away, Evan notes that that's a bad intersection, he and his partner have been called to accidents there 3 times in the last 6 months.

Hospital waiting room
Nick’s hand is bandaged, his face cleaned up. In front of Nick on a table is a prescription bottle. Burton comes in, asks how Lulu is (no change), then asks how Nick’s hand is. Nick says it’s ok. Burton asks him if he plans to take any of the medicine, and Nick says no, he doesn’t think that would be a good idea. Burton goes to get a cup of coffee.
